Have you ever noticed the emoji that are shown close to your friends' Snapchat usernames? They are there for a reason, and once you understand Snapchat emoji meanings, you will discover what they symbolize.

Check out the article to know more about this.

What Are Snapchat Emojis Used For?

The emojis used by Snapchat are the same ones you have on your smartphone and insert in your messages through different platforms. However, emojis have a different utility on Snapchat, which is to indicate your friendship status with the people you follow on this social media.

Snapchat analyzes how you interact with each one, and assigns an emoji to your friends based on it. Different from what many people think it isn't your friend who will choose the emoji that appears to you, neither you choose yours.

The emoji is given according to how often you interact with the person, and it may change with time as well. Once you know the Snapchat emoji meanings, you will be able to understand better how this works.

Snapchat Emoji Meanings

💕 Super BFF

The two pink heart emoji means that you and your friend have been each other's number one best friend on Snapchat for two months in a row. This person is the one you most interact with on the platform, sending snaps, and they are yours too.

❤️ BFF

The red heart Snapchat emoji means you and your friend have been each other's Snapchat best friends for two consecutive weeks. If you both keep interacting with each other like that, you probably will get the super BFF emoji too.

💛 Besties

The yellow heart means you are the person to whom this user sends snaps the most, and the other way around too. They are your number one Snapchat friend as well. If this continues for a longer period, the emoji will change to the red heart, then to the two pink hearts.

😊 BFs

The smiley face means this user is on your Snapchat best friends list. They are one of the people who you often interact with through the platform, sending several snaps. However, this use isn't the one you interact with the most.

😬Mutual Besties

The grimacing face emoji means that you and the other user share mutual best friends on the platform. Your number-one best friend is the number-one best friend of this person too.

😎Mutual BFs

The face with sunglasses emoji has a similar meaning to the grimacing face. The difference is this one represents that you and the person have one Snapchat user who is in both Snapchat best friend lists. This mutual best friend isn't the one you two most interact with, though.

🔥Snapstreak

The fire emoji means when you and one of your friends are in a snapstreak, which is when you both keep sending each other's snaps within 24 hours for at least three days in a row.

⌛️Snapstreak is Ending

The hourglass emoji indicates that if you or your friend don't send each other a snap, the snapstreak will end soon. If you want to keep increasing the number of times you two exchange snaps every day, you need to pay attention when this emoji appears, to avoid losing the timing.

💯One Hundred Consecutive Snapstreaks

The one hundred emoji means you and one of your Snapchat friends have achieved the mark of seeding each other's snaps one hundred days consecutively, without missing any day. You both are really committed.

🎂Birthday

The cake emoji is shown near your Snapchat friends' names when it's their birthday. That's a useful tool to avoid forgetting to send them a happy birthday message.

📌Pinned Conversation

The pin emoji is placed when you fix a conversation on the top of your feed. You can pin conversations when you want to remind yourself to answer someone back, and indicate that the conversation is important.

👶New Snapchat Friend

The baby emoji means this person is someone you have recently added to your Snapchat friends' list. You two are just starting to interact with each other.

🌟Replayed Snap

The gold shining star emoji indicates that the person has replayed your snap in the last 24 hours. This probably means they like your content, and it's a good way to know who is following what you post closely.
